GraphQL Talk at IT-DAY Kherson: Supporting Materials

Alex Cherednichenko

GraphQL is a data query language developed internally by Facebook in 2012 before being publicly released in 2015. We wanted to share an intro presentation and support materials on GraphQL and its applicability as well as a sample project presented by Alex Cherednichenko in April 2018 at a local conference IT-DAY Kherson.

Hi! I have recently given a talk at Kherson local IT-DAY 2018 conference concerning GraphQL and its applicability. This page contains some supporting materials, namely the presentation I have used to give the talk, and the sample code.

Probably best is to go through the presentation first - if there will be the recording of talk I will publish it here - and then play around with the sample application.
UPD: Unfortunately, there is no recording available.

Sample application is available on GitHub as graphql-talk-logicify and is written in Javascript for Node, uses SQLite for the database. In a nutshell, it looks like a little Twitter-like API integrating local database storage (SQLite) with another remote data source, in this case a Yahoo weather provider.

It's good to know if it rains on your followers now, isn't it?

Getting in Touch

I hope you liked it. We are just building our expertise in GraphQL - it has passed some qualification and initial sample project use, and now we look for the proper project to try it out.

If you want to get in touch, please, email me at a@logicify.com or leave something on GitHub.

Thank you!
